College of Law/ University of Fallujah
The college of law is one of the colleges of the university of Fallujah, it is located in the north of Fallujah city/ Anbar governorate, about 60 km west of Baghdad. The college of law was established firstly as a Department within the College of Administration and Economics / Anbar University in 2000, then it became independent as a college with its own legal entity in 2002 as it was affiliated with the University of Anbar. Once the University of Fallujah was established in 2014, the college of law was re-linked to join the latter.
The college currently comprises of two branches; the public law and the private law. It also includes three study programs, which are the bachelor’s program, the duration of study is four years, and the first session of 2004 came out of this program, which was concerned with morning studies only, and in 2017 a program was created Bachelor's degree for evening studies, the first course of which was graduated in 2020/2021. In the field of postgraduate programs, the college includes a master’s program / private law branch, which was established in 2012, and a doctoral program / private law branch, which was established in 2020, as well as a master’s program / public law branch, which was also introduced in 2020.
The college of law has an academic journal issues under the name of (Researcher Journal for Legal Science), which is a semi-annual journal. It is an open access for legal scientific research and commentaries on judicial rulings, it accepts publication in three languages: Arabic, English and French.
The college’s mission is to prepare qualified graduates with a strong legal knowledge and scientific research who will be successful in their own works and develop positively in the community, as well as to establish a cooperation with various national and international educational institutions.
It is worth stating that the College of Law/ University of Fallujah has contributed to the establishment of the Scientific Association of Colleges of Law in the Arab Countries, affiliated to the League of Arab States in 2019, based in the United Arab Emirates, and it played an important role in setting up its rules of procedure.
Finally, about graduation courses of the scientific process of the college and since its establishment, it is eighteen bachelor courses, and four masters’ courses in private law have graduated, and the scientific research stage for the master’s degree of public law and the PhD on private law has just emerged. The college will stay assured in developing the scientific and administrative sides in order to perform the desired scientific sobriety and within its strategic plan.
